Department of Periodontics, Tagore Dental College celebrated World Oral Health day on 27.03.2023 and the event was focused in creating awareness about the oral health and its role in general health. The team consisted of Dr. B.Bhuvaneswari, Professor and Head of Department of Periodontics, Dr. T. Parthasaradhi, Dr.Juala Catherine, Dr.Mugil, Dr.Indumathi and Dr.Sathyasri.
The Organizing team prepared a photo booth captioned ‘ Be proud of your mouth’ .The photobooth was placed in patient reception area, where the students and also the patients visiting the college took photographs enthusiastically over a period of one week (from20.03.2023-27.03.2023)
The program also consisted of ‘Best smile’ photography contest where the students from First year BDS and Interns enrolled themselves and clicked beautiful smiles with a creative mind(from 20.03.2023-27.03.2023) .The photographs were displayed on the patient waiting area as hard copies.
The photographs were assessed by Principal Dr.C.J.Venkatakrishnan. and chose (first ,second and third place).The winners were awarded with the laminated photo which they have clicked.
An awareness skit was enacted by the interns in the patient reception area and the skit was in regional language .The skit emphasized the importance of oral health and its link to systemic health.The patient viewed the skit and were able to understand the importance of oral health
