WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY 2022

The theme for WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY 2022 is ‘THREAT TO OUR ENVIRONMENT’

The awareness program was conducted by department of Public Health Dentistry in collaboration with Department of oral medicine and radiology and National Service Scheme of Tagore Dental College & Hospital on account of world no tobacco day at Karanaipuducherry with an attempt to create awareness on ill effects of tobacco consumption

Students have educated the public through Skit on second-hand smoking and its impact on the family members and also how women play an important role in educating their family members who have the habit of using tobacco products. They explained in detail about the ill effects of Tobacco and the services provided by the Tobacco Cessation Centre with the help of posters and flip chart. Skit was very well received and appreciated by the participants and they also clarified their doubts

The program was followed by the distribution of pamphlets in Tamil on stressing the health hazards of tobacco consumption and types of smoking and smokeless tobacco.

On account of World No Tobacco Day the campaign involves the rally at Santhome signal was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry, Tagore dental College and Hospital in collaboration with Indian Dental Association, Madras branch.
